Patina & Purpose

CENTRAL PARK. DENVER, CO

What started as a builder-basic box from the early 2000s became something entirely its own over the course of eighteen months. This complete gut renovation touched every inch of the home—kitchen, dining nook, living room, staircase, office, mudroom, and a fully reconfigured second floor where each of three kids now has their own ensuite bathroom. The clients came in with a clear vision: organic modern, elevated, and deeply personal. Smooth walls replaced old texture, leathered Taj Mahal quartzite anchors the kitchen alongside custom wood cabinetry, and the fireplace surround and hood were finished in a custom-patinated brass by Raw Urth Designs out of Fort Collins. The staircase was rebuilt entirely by hand—hand-laid, hand-stained wood treads paired with a custom metal railing that sets the tone for the whole home.

Upstairs, the layout was reimagined from scratch, with a reconfigured primary suite featuring a fully custom bath, a built-out closet with its own laundry, and a bedroom anchored by a custom millwork headboard wall. A new loft with a window seat serves as both home office and teen hangout. Throughout, the details do the work: wallpaper on the dining ceiling, a sliding accordion door opening the living room to the outdoors, and custom lighting in every room. This is a home that feels entirely considered and it shows.
