Modern Cottage

Central Park, Denver, CO

For this family, the kitchen serves as the core of the home, where a soft, neutral palette allows texture and light to take center stage. We combined warm wood cabinetry with painted finishes and subtle stone surfaces to create depth without heaviness. A key priority was ensuring more than ample storage—integrating full-height cabinetry, deep drawers, and concealed organization that supports daily life while maintaining a clean visual line.

Layered into this is a built-in coffee and prep area, which, along with open shelving, keeps everyday items within reach while adding a casual, lived-in quality that softens the overall aesthetic.

Just beyond the kitchen, the built-in breakfast nook creates a more intimate counterpoint to the open space. Framed by natural light and anchored by warm wood tones, this area was designed for everyday moments—morning coffee, casual meals, and quiet conversation. The banquette maximizes space while adding softness and comfort, making it one of the most inviting areas in the home.

We also carved out a dedicated music room, giving the homeowners a space that feels personal and expressive. In contrast to the restrained main spaces, the powder room became an opportunity to introduce a bit of play. We selected a fun, classic wallpaper that adds movement and personality, transforming a small footprint into a memorable moment.
